Recently, a friend of mine was robbed of money from his wallet while his housemates lost their valuables too. The incident happened last Christmas break since all of them left for the holidays so there was no one left to guard their house and their personal belongings. Although there were people living next door, no one seemed to notice or even knew what happened until they found out that their valuables were gone. If only the people next door were warned or noticed that something was going on in my friend’s house even though they knew that no one was there, they would have called the police or at least checked out the house. This could be a good reason why a burglar alarm is very handy in keeping rooms safe just by simply calling attention of nearby people. That way, the culprit can be caught or at least the alarm can cast fear causing him to flee. Anyway, since it already happened, no one can do anything about it anymore. What we can do now is try to be extra careful next time.

A Dream of Mine

Usually when I imagine my dream house, I always consider an entertainment room where I can have everything that I want from relaxing to watching movies. And of course I always plan on installing a home theater seating for a cozy and comfortable setting for me. I always say to myself that if I am getting something, I should get the best there is with the budget that I have. It is my dream and I know it is within my reach. Hopefully everything will fall in there places the way I wanted it to be. Aside from that, I am also planning to make a little flower garden in my lawn just to put color to my dream house.

Excited!

Just talked with my mom on the phone and she was telling me how excited she was on my arrival of course I am excited too since I miss them all so much. After the hi’s, helllo’s and how are you’s that we had, she started to tell me how our house extension was going. She was extending our house and was building a new kitchen since she also enjoyed cooking. She was happy to tell me that it was about to be finished and was hoping that it would be perfect before I came home. She installed Kohler faucets and some granite tiles. Also she bought additional kitchen appliances and some decorative materials for the new section of our house. I’m kind of visualizing everything she was talking about in my mind when the conversation ended. After a while I received a text message telling me that her phone went dead and was on the field conducting field work so she had no place to charge her phone. She even asked someone to text me those lines. That’s why I am expecting her call later. And I bet, she’ll be telling me to go home as early as possible.

The Wedding

My family just checked in one of the hotels at the metro in preparation for my cousin’s wedding. Since the wedding will hold far away from our house, we had to stay to this hotel. Personally I enjoyed taking my bath because of their amazing bathroom facilities. I noticed some intricate carvings around the walls and noticed their Grohe faucets which were very nice. I thought staying in the bathtub was a relaxing thing to do until my brother broke my excitement. So I had to leave the room and watch TV instead. The wedding proceeded the next day and after that, we headed back home.

Recently, I visited this furniture shop nearby. They’ve got cool and elegant stuffs like sofas, dining tables and chairs, chandeliers, and other furniture sets that will surely make you feel rich just by looking at them. Anyway, we were interested at their bathroom furniture because we were looking for bathroom faucets since ours needs some replacement. We got a regular faucet since it’s the only product that we can afford. I just hope it doesn’t get broken. :D

Recently, technology is at fast pace of putting everything in High Definition. TVs, Radios, Video Cameras, and the likes. What struck me most is that we Filipinos don’t have access to all these technologies else, limited. Currently, only HD video cameras and HD movies can be appreciated in an HDTV. Try buying a good 70+ inch HDTV (An LcOS, DLP, Projection, Plasma) an what you get is a pixelated and stretched version of your ABS-CBN. A normal TV screen has an aspect ratio of 4:3 (width vs height) but an HDTV has an aspect ratio of 16:9 or at times 16:10. As with that fact, normal TV broadcasts will be stretched and it looks ugly. How about HD movies? If I am to question a Filipino, have you heard of BluRay and HDDVD? BluRay packs a whopping 50GB and the latter 25GB, good for those 25 in one DVD quality movies…But HDDVD is probably becoming a little more of a descendant of Betamax, a victim of format wars. Nonetheless, its none of our concern. We can’t grab any of them (An HDTV or A HD Movie) until, say 2 years from now. Is it really our concern to adapt all these technologies or just have them go down to mainstream then buy one? Well the answers lie in our personal judgment and values. We Filipinos value simplicity. As long as our TV still works, its good. We don’t need all those technologies, for we can work on our own. Don’t refute with my claim, we FIlipinos are hardworking. Just look at the stats of our OFW, OCW. You’ll be surprised.. High definition workers….

Cleaning the House

Keeping a clean house is not very easy. Especially for those who are too lazy to pick up the broom and sweep the floor, or arrange the furnitures, dust the appliances and the like. But keeping a clean house is important to avoid unwanted sickness caused by bacteria living in the dirt that surround the place.

But why not start cleaning the house now, or just do some maintenance cleaning to a avoid too dusty furniture and stuffs. It’s a lot more comfortable to live in a clean place. And, it’s a lot healthier rather than being very untidy and too mess

As a student we are very busy to do these chores but we should realize that cleaning our place is
also a part of our responsibilites. As much as possible, we have tofulfill it. This is for our own good. In my case, i cannot study very well in a place full of dirt and too much untidy, so I clean before I read. how about you? How important is cleaning to you?
