I wonder what present would a dear friend love to receive this coming Heart’s day. Something that wouldn’t give other malicious signs to the intended recipient, male in this matter, if the giver was a female. This was the question a dear friend asked me because she planned on on giving a special gift to her best friend who happens to be a he. I told her that she can choose any gifts for him as long as it came from her heart and that she would explain that it was a friendly gift. She feared that maybe her friend might misinterpret and I told her that he won’t. I wished her a Happy Heart’s Day as my parting words.

Today marks my fifth month here in my first ever job after graduation. Seven more months to go and my contract ends. By then I don’t know what happens next but right now, I don’t have plans on extending my contract even if given the opportunity to do so. Up until now, I am still in a dilemma whether I fit the job or I am just too lazy to to the best that I can. People around me said that I am lucky to land a job in a reputable company and I should be thankful that I have a job. Still, I believe that it’s a big world out there. I learned a lot but I also want to explore the world out there. I am still young and I know there is a bigger plan for me out there. I just have to take the risk and above all, lift all things up to Him.

Lunar Year!

Yesterday, the whole country celebrated the new lunar calendar year or more popularly known as Chinese new year. Sounds of gaiety and live music echoed in most streets where people enjoyed the celebration with their families. This particular celebration has been adapted worldwide as Chinese communities can be found on almost all parts of the world. My aunt, who always celebrated Chinese new year gave us, her nephews and nieces with red envelope coupons. She secretly placed it in our pockets while we were all having fun. It was our youngest cousin that noticed my aunt’s present and to our surprise, we received bountiful gifts when we opened the envelopes. We shared dinner together as we share funny stories.

A lot of teens nowadays especially males have been very fond of wearing accessories. From silver to gold accessories and even the beautiful steel items. Of course, steel necklace sets and earrings won’t be the last items you will find on a man’s accessories. Such items adds appeal to women as some people would claim. Other would just want to feel and look good so they wear those merchandise. Like any other product, the demand of steel accessories will always be there as long as people find it appealing and pleasing to the individual users. I for one have my own personal steel accessories and I wear them in occasions I see it fit.

My father was always fond of carpentry. He made lots of furniture from the planks and pieces of wood he would see. He usually tends to the small repairs of our house and would spend most of time finishing every piece of furniture he is working on back then. Now, he managed to acquire a sawmill which he usually spends his time working. I remember when he first had his use on his band saw blades, excitement filled his face and he was very happy while he was using it. A lot of people admired his works and given the right time, maybe he’ll be able to create a market and a demand of his own produce.

My eyesight is getting worse everyday but I can’t help but accept the fact that I am now one of those who wears extra thing with me, eyeglasses. I got my first eyeglasses some seven years ago but it got lost when I was out in the field doing an experiment. Since then, I never wore one until now. I cannot see clearly and I started experiencing mild headaches when I spend too much time in front of the computer. December of last year was when I finally decided that I should get another pair of eyeglasses. Thus, here I am now, sitting in front of the monitor with my glasses on. Except for the added hassle, I think wearing these spectacles looks good on me. Most people say I now look scholarly and I’d always smile in reply.

Looking Forward to Change

In three days, the year 2011 will end and the world will say hello to 2012. It has been a family’s tradition that we make some noise and wear polka dots to attract money and luck into our house. We also loved wearing funny t shirts with them just to keep the laughs overflowing in our house. After celebrating new year with noise, we often gather in our dinner tables and toast to good health, long life, and a much more prosperous new year ahead for the whole family. I always looked forward to celebrating new year. It gives me a starting point.

A lot of properties have been devastated by a typhoon that recently hit my country. Many were left homeless and whose family members were found dead. The typhoons onslaught has brought too much sadness and pain. Not only that, many houses and vehicles were left totaled and destroyed, most of which cost much today. For those who owned an rv and applied for an rv insurance, well they are better since they are assured that their vehicles are secured in some way.
